The Kayaking Expedition Itineraries are tailored for flexibility (weather permitting) to allow everyone a memorable experience. The Johnstone Strait area offers a wide range of activities, all within easy paddling range. Ample opportunity will be available for discussion and planning so you can be assured that you'll have a memorable adventure.Depending on group size, there will be multiple guides that will allow for more variety of activities and paddling levels.
The protected waters of Indian Channel are an interesting array of islands, clamshell middens and intricate passages that give you a feel for what life must have been like many years ago. Hanson Island is in the center of the triangular area that the whales travel. There will be ample opportunity to view them on the water or watch from shore. A day trip to Cracroft Island, offers easy hiking up the rock bluff trails that look across to the Robson Bight area, further along this trail is another Orca Research Camp that attracts volunteer students from all over the world.
